At Home
May 6, 2009
Owen really honestly does not mind being at home all day, I don’t either for a little but then I really miss some adult interaction. Well we have been home all week, three days. Doesn’t seem too long but I would really like some conversation that does not revolve around dinosaurs, cars or play-doh.
Owen has a tiny cold and Aiden has been super fussy and feeding a lot (think it’s a growth spurt), so we’ve just been hanging at home. Honestly I’ve had a lot of fun playing with Owen and he has been so very understanding while I have had to feed Aiden and calm him. We have played a lot of play-doh, stickers, cars, dinosaurs and animals. Owen loves imagination games and roll play. So happy that the sun came out after two days of rain, so we finally got to play outside.
This morning while Aiden was napping in the moby wrap, Owen wanted to go in Aiden’s room. He likes to climb in the crib and play with the stuffed animals. Someone should use the crib.
And yes he is still in his pajamas, it was one of those mornings. Owen kept saying, “Put Aiden down here,” pointing to the crib under the mobile. When I finally did (waited because I knew he’s wake up) Owen was excited and wanted back in the crib.

Where’s Owen?

“I’m sleeping, Mommy.”

Throwing Animals

Owen got dressed and read some books.

So I put Aiden in his crib, and of course he woke.

Aiden in his bed….hopefully one day he’ll sleep here. ![]()

Aiden Making the Block

Random things that I have to include.
1- Like I said Aiden has been overly fussy and harder to get to sleep, so I have been bouncing him a lot while he screams in my ear. I am tired and was frustrated and could not hold it in and began to cry in front of Owen. He loves to talk about feelings and told me “Mommy’s upset. Mommy’s frustrated with Aiden. It’ll be okay Mommy.” Then again this happen later in the evening and Owen told me about the same thing but added “Be happy Mommy.” How can you not.
2- We headed out to play in the sunshine this morning and Owen was not happy that one of his cars was left out and was dirty. So while I picked up poop, I saw him run inside. Didn’t think anything of it because he does this often to go retrieve more cars, but he was taking some time. So I went to go check and heard him yelling for me upstairs. I panicked a little (shocker!) and found him in his bathroom. The door closes by itself so he was trapped and yelling “Mommy come open the door.” When I did he was not bothered at all just proud to tell me “I cleaned the truck off.” Back outside we went.
3- After lunch we were playing water in the sink and Aiden was hanging out in the rocker watching Owen (his favorite activity). I was prepping dinner and Owen kept taking an animal out of the water showing it to Aiden and saying “Look Aiden it is splashing.” So cute. I can’t wait for them to be able to play together.
