Playgroup at Chez Aru
My standing Friday playgroup was at our house today and it went great. I was very pleased, no fights, no real tears, lots of smiles and laughs. Usually when there are a lot of kids in our house Owen likes to be in a calmer area, downstairs or outside. And for some reason the past several playgroups I have gone to, Owen has kind of hid and played by himself. Not today, he was quite excited to have his buddies over and played amongst all the chaos.
It was very sweet and a good sign, but when Elizabeth put Hayden (6 mos) – I hope I guessed the twin right – down on the floor Owen gravitated toward him and tried to play. At first he laid on his stomach facing him chatting (sad I missed this picture) and then I brought over some baby toys so they could play together. Owen did great and even pushed the music button for Hayden.
Beth and Christina went outside pretty early in playgroup, so we headed out with James in tow to keep her company. Brady also came but he really likes to play sand and did so pretty much the whole time even once we went inside. At first they were all in the fort, but of course I went to get the camera and moment missed. I always think it is so cute to see the kids together in the fort. Owen always has a huge smile. It was nice out but started to get warm. The backyard gets a lot of sun around 10:30.
Christina, James (in back) and Owen Swinging

Owen took a break from swinging to run around the yard

Back to Swinging. They were “Cock-a-Doddle-Doo”ing to Eachother and Laughing Hard

James and Owen Swinging (hard to get two kids to look while swing is moving, like James sticking his tongue out)

Back inside to enjoy some chocolate chip pound cake and melon, and AC.
I had to show what the chaos looks like. It’s fun chaos!
Jenn (with baby Nate’s leg), Laura, Elizabeth, Brady, the Twins Connor and Hayden, Cole and James.
Okay, all the big kids have disappeared. I knew Christina was playing with the tube (out of picture, sorry) and Brady playing in the sand, but where are the others.

I heard lots of giggles, laughs, and squeals from the other living room. I had to sneak in and take a peek. I found James, Owen and Tyler bouncing on the sofa and having the best time. It was super cute.

Always a hit in my house are the fish tanks. The kids always check them out.
