Storytime with Erica
Erica came over to babysit Owen so Omer and I could go on a date, something the we both needed. Owen loves Erica and usually will flirt with her a little before wanting to play. He quickly took her a book to read to him and crawled in her lap. If you haven’t noticed Owen getting our guests to read to him is very common.

Santa Visit
We headed over to the mall to visit Santa this morning. As I learned last year you should always go with someone to keep you and your kid company and go early. I was first in line and Ali and Brice came to stand in line with us. The boys had a lot of fun running back and forth over the ramp and looking at all the Christmas decorations.
Pointing at the Christmas Mouse

The ramp for Santa was a lot of fun.

Owen took to Santa right away. He could have cared less that I sat him on this man’s knee and walked away. He kept looking and smiling at him and we finally got him to smile at the camera. I am very pleased with his 2nd Santa picture. As you can see I came prepared to change him into his sweater after drooling through his shirt.

Beaver Hat
I was at Whole Foods and came across the most adorable hats and they actually had a beaver. When I asked Owen if he wanted a beaver hat and he responded with his beaver impression. I took that as a yes. He has a stocking hat already but it has been a struggle occasionally to get him to wear it. It’s a 2T because he has a big head and I think it is still a little tight so he takes it off. Well this beaver hat seems to do the trick for Owen. When Omer got home, I put it on Owen to show him and he left it on until we had to take it off for bath. Hopefully he will continue to like his hat. (Sorry it is a little crooked, he’d been playing for awhile.)

Who Needs Toys
Owen and I got back from Costco and he helped me empty out the items from the big box they packed. After we were finished he quickly took the box and started pushing it around the whole house. He went on through the day pushing his box and also putting toys in and out. As you can see Chester follows Owen around when he pushes anything (cart, box, etc.).

Are You Thirsty?
Chloe was not doing well this morning and was laying on her sofa panting and licking her lips. Owen carried over his cup and kept trying to give it to her. She liked the attention but was not sure what to do with the cup. Not sure if he was really trying to help her or if it was just by chance.
I do know that Owen really likes to give his pups anything: toys, food, sticks, etc.
PS: Chloe is doing much better. I have taken her off prednisone b/c I don’t think it was helping and yesterday she went back on rimadyl and started the chemo med. She seems much better and a little less in pain.

All the Leaves Have Fallen
The trees out back have finally lost all their leaves so we all went out to finish raking. Owen still has his cold but seems a little better and with it not too cold we thought the fresh air might help a little. While I raked and Omer picked up poo, Owen wandered around the around and played with Chester. He showed barely any interest until Omer started to bag the leaves.
“This looks interesting, I want to help.”

“I want to help put the leaves in.”

Storytime with Buyukanne
This morning, Owen’s buyukanne and buyukhala came for a visit. He still has a bad cold and did not sleep well again but he mustered up a lot of smiles and cuteness while they were here. His first cold of the season has been rough but glad that he is happy some points through the day.

Holiday Parade
Reston has a holiday parade at the Town Center with floats and big balloons. I was very excited to take Owen to it this year and had expected that he would love it. But Thanksgiving night Owen got a bad cold and barely slept. He was in good spirits in the morning so we thought we would still take him. Well he was fine until 11:00 when the parade started, so we had to leave and never even saw any of the parade.
He fell right to sleep in the car and with such bad sleep the night before we did not want to risk transferring him to his crib, so Omer and I drove around, stopped for pizza, and sat in a parking lot while he napped. It was nice quality time.
Checking out the Christmas tree.

We went into the building to warm Owen up. He had fun walking around and shaking his holiday bell given out by the parade.

He was intrigued with the revolving door, he kept pushing on it so I helped him push hard and walking outside.

Happy Thanksgiving
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving at my Mom’s house. The turkey was absolutely delicious and no one can beat my mom’s stuffing. Chloe and Chester got to come as well. This was Chester’s first time at the farm, he seemed to take to it pretty quickly. Owen was his usual happy self until we sat down for dinner and he became fussy and antsy. So after a little help he ran around the house while we all enjoyed dinner.
Sorry there are so many pictures, but Omer is a great photographer and I just had to share them all.
Enjoying the warm Thanksgiving weather.

Chester and Paddington (my mom’s dog) enjoyed playing while Chloe found a steak bone to chew on.

Chester getting to know Paddington.

Owen thinking Chester is chasing him.

Chester taking a bounce on the trampoline with Cliff.

Owen listening to Stephen’s instructions.

Owen enjoyed a little horse ride inside. He kept giving Jenni the big cheesy grin.

Storytime with Grandma
Grandma came for a quick visit this morning. Owen really likes her to read to him, so he climbed in her lap and read away. The dogs hung out as well to listen to the story.
